CAMP FACILITIES: This is a day and residential camp for interested students.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Levels: There will be four levels at the camp: Programming, USACO Bronze, USACO Silver, and USACO Gold. During the camp, adjustments can be made to the level (depending on space availability) if faculty and student agree that a different level would be more beneficial to the student. Maximum capacity for each class is 16. Our small class size lets us have different learner groups in the same class (ex. beginner, inter, advanced). Each group may different topics and problems based on their level.

We would like to maximize student potential so that we don't limit student learning with lecturing-to-all style teaching. In this way, students can proceed on their own paces. Curriculum: The students will be equipped with necessary background in lectures and trained with different types of problems to master various problem solving techniques.

The classes are problem solving-based and the curriculum is aligned with USA Computing Olympiad (USACO). Lectures are given by A* Faculty and other instructors who have participation and/or training experience in national/internationals Olympiads such as USACO and International Olympiads in Informatics.

CAMP FACILITIES: All campers stay in cabins. There is a large outdoor pool, large music shell, climbing tower, zip line, lake for canoeing, basketball court, horse back riding, archery range, baseball field and 1000 arces of redwoods.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This is the 54th annual camp. The Hayward La-Honda Music Camp is organized to challenge students in a variety of creative pursuits and is devoted to the development of musicianship for students grades 6-12. This is accomplished through a program of study, concentrated rehearsal, performance, recreation and general camp life.

The camp mission is to inspire young people to achieve their best musically, to enjoy a great social/recreational experience and take home memories that will last a lifetime. CAMP FACILITIES: This site offers indoor dormitory sleeping in bunks with mattresses provided. Campers are grouped together by age and supervised by their counseling staff. The beautiful setting also allows for swimming, access to the Russian River, outdoor basketball court, a play area, a cozy main house lodge, a recreation and gaming room, an outdoor campfire circle, cozy places to sit and share, a crafts shack, and a wonderful Redwood chapel.

Established in 2001, CSF moved to its new host site in 2014. This Camp Meeker location affords opportunities for activities like crafts, campfire, archery, games, sports, dance, water fun and nature hikes.

CAMP COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Brief Description: Camp counselors at Pali Adventures are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of campers. They supervise campers in a cabin setting, at mealtimes, and during activities. Counselors are in charge of facilitating activities throughout the day. Counselors work as a team to ensure all campers have a fun and memorable experience at camp. Counselors report directly to their Specialty Director and Group Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Exhibit characteristics of responsibility, dependability, leadership, patience, punctuality, hard work, sense of humor, self-control, integrity, common sense, good judgment and a positive enthusiastic attitude.
 Complete the staff application and interview process.
 Attend staff training (May 30 – June 12) and all in-service trainings.
 Must have completed high school and be a minimum 18 years of age or older as of 5/30/20.
 Desire and ability to work with children.
 Other duties as assigned

Staff members are entrusted with the care and safety of young children in a rustic setting replete with natural and man-made dangers. All staff members must have the ability to respond immediately to an emergency. A week-long sleep-away program in a beautiful camp location, YEA is designed to be a fun and transformative experience that builds life-long friendships between youth with similar interests. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: J-Camp's management team carefully selects all summer staff. Pre-interview essays determine candidates' outlooks, experience and intentions. CAMP FACILITIES: Our 200 acre property contains forest land, a swimming pond, activity fields and hiking trails. We have 14 cabins, a dining hall, meetinghouse and a large community garden attached to our farm lands and orchard.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Camp - Ages 8-14: Campers come for 1 week or two week session (and some for 3, 4, or 5 weeks!) and go on wilderness trips. Each week there are 3 day, 2 night trips to Tahoe, the Sierra Buttes, and/or the Yuba River.

Teen Leadership Camp - Ages 15-16: These exciting programs takes the Summer Camp experience to a whole new level for 15 and 16 year olds: We offer a two-week hiking program, a one-week farming and cooking program, and a two-week bike repair and bike touring program.

Hiking Program (Two weeks): TLCers will spend two days bonding, learning about their trip, and preparing for hiking. They and their trip leaders will then embark on a 10-day backpacking trip along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). They will then return to camp, and will have two days of closure at the end.

Farming & Cooking Program (One week): TLCers will spend their week working in Woolman's organic garden, learning about farming, plants and the farm to table journeys of the food we eat. They will learn nutrition and cooking skills as they prepare many of their meals with the fruits and vegetables harvested.

Our retreat spans acres of native grounds, offering hiking trails, picturesque mountain and canyon views. CITs will shadow an established counselor as well as have a daily check in meeting with the directors. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: YEA is a unique and inspiring leadership summer camp for youth 12-17 who care about community service, activism and social justice. This two-week leadership camp is designed for both male and female students (entering Grades 9 through 12) who are unable to attend the four-week JROTC Course but who are still interested in achieving a leadership training experience. Camper will choose one of the following electives for their focus: Leadership, Aviation,Computer Science, or ESOL.

3. Camp Challenge Two-Week Middle School Leadership Development Programs (LDP), Basic and Advanced.

LDP Basic is an introduction to leadership for students interested in exploring potential and enhancing existing skills while learning the fundamentals of citizenship. Campers gain invaluable life skills through fun activities and adventure based challenges that reinforce teamwork, accountability, discipline, and respect.

CAMP FACILITIES: Cedar Lake has various bunkhouses and lodges. We can accommodate multiple groups at one time, and have a 290 camper maximum capacity.

Cedar Lake Camp also offers many activities for groups including canoeing, swimming, hiking, volleyball, basketball, campfires, disc golf and an exceptional challenge course.

CAMP FACILITIES: We teach respect for yourself, others, and the environment through a Yosemite backpacking adventure. Participants camp and sleep under the stars or in tents. We move locations and hike daily. We learn about nature and challenge ourselves to become better contributors in this world!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our outdoor summer camps, also known as the Yosemite High Country Adventure youth backpacking trips, are our specialty. Our weekly programs are six days/ five nights in length and average between 25-35 backpacking miles. These trips usually begin in the Yosemite High Country and conclude in Yosemite Valley proper. On all trips we conduct some side hikes (without backpacks) to famous sites and peaks (such as Half Dome, Clouds Rest, El Capitan, Mount Hoffman, and Red Peak).

These day trips average another 6 to 10 miles. Every other week we offer a different trail. So if you would like to choose a two-week adventure (13 days/ 12 nights) by combining two sessions; your child will be guaranteed to see different terrain each week. Additionally, by choosing the two-week option, your child will have a layover day in either Tuolumne Meadows or Yosemite Valley proper where the participants will partake in more sightseeing opportunities. During this layover day, participants will also have a chance to re-supply, wash-up, and eat some fresh food at a local eatery.

Throughout the adventure, participants will be guided along some of the most famous trails and to the top of some of the most famous passes and peaks within Yosemite National Park. Our experienced leaders have an extensive knowledge of the Yosemite backcountry. In addition to taking our participants to many of the famous locations, our leaders will also guide participants to lesser known areas that we have found over the years such as off-the-trail high alpine lakes (where fish are plentiful), backcountry waterfalls, alpine meadows, spectacular vistas, watering holes, cliff jumping areas, and natural waterslides.

On most trips, we backpack every day but one (a lay over day and location is usually agreed upon by the team) and we are on the trail for an average of 4-5 hours. Most of our trips go from a higher elevation to a lower elevation and throughout the experience we take our time, take in the views, and break at awesome watering holes. Yet, viewing the Yosemite backcountry is only one of the many outcomes that occur on these trips.

Our primary mission is to use the natural environment and outdoor activities to teach participants the necessary skills and attitudes for living successful lives. We also strive to foster an appreciation for the wilderness, nature, and the world around us. In addition to unique individual backgrounds and certifications, our leaders are all trained in Adventure Based Programming. Through Adventure Based Programming, participants will be challenged to improve their sense of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence. Participants will participate in daily goal setting, group activities and debriefing (usually mixed in with marshmallows around the campfire.) This is all done within an environment of fun and support.

All participants will also learn basic backpacking skills, wilderness ethics, wilderness appreciation and engage in Leave No Trace principals. Along with creating lasting memories, it is our goal that participants will finish this adventure with a greater knowledge of themselves, the world, and the environment around them.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in cabins (or if they are really lucky teepees) with a staff member in each cabin or teepee. Cabins/teepees have six bunk beds and are solid wood structures with canvas flaps covering the windows and the door. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Levels: There will be four levels at the camp: MathCounts/AMC-8, AMC10/12, AIME, and USAMO.

Curriculum: Each week will be devoted to one of the four main areas. The focus will be on Number Theory and Algebra/Analysis in Period-I and Geometry and Combinatorics in Period-II.

The students will be equipped with necessary background in lectures and trained with different types of problems to master various problem solving techniques. OTHER CAMP INFO: Activities: In A* camps, activities are carefully selected, and we have four different types of activities that contribute to student improvement:

- Strategy, board, and math games to improve analytical reasoning, visual perception, and logical deduction
- Movies that are educational, instructional and motivating
- Outdoor sports and activities to improve the team spirit
- Math and science oriented team competitions

Field Trips: Educational/Entertaining field trips to places such as Bay Area, Stanford University, Exploratorium, Hi-Tech Companies.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
A* Summer Math Camp will consist of two 2-week long periods. It is possible to participate in either or both sessions. Both residential and day-camp options are available.

Period 1: June 30-July 14, 2013 (Number Theory and Analysis)

Period 2: July 14-28, 2013 (Geometry and Combinatorics)

CAMP FACILITIES: River Way Ranch Camp operates as a resort 9 months out of the year when camp is not in session. Campers stay in air-conditioned cabins, and sleep 8 to a room, with two counselors. Cabins are complete with a private bathroom and shower, closest and sink area. River Way Ranch Camp is a beautiful facility, complete with stables, basketball and tennis courts, three pools, an on-site lake, and a high and low ropes course facility.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: River Way campers are divided into divisions. The Buckaroos (ages 7-9) have two counselors with each cabin group at all times. They receive a challenging diversified schedule, teaching them many new skills. Beginning at age 10, Rancheros and Seniors have free choices of activity. Transportation is available by charter bus from Southern and Northern California, as well as airport transportation from Fresno International Airport (FAT).
