BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: I Want to be an Ambassador! is a fun, interactive seven-day summer camp designed to help teens master the skills of a successful Ambassador… especially the vital art of diplomacy. The I Want to be an Ambassador! camp is unlike any other leadership program in the region due to its innovative and progressive curriculum that offers invaluable lessons for all teens to apply what they learn immediately in their daily lives. The camp includes a trip to Washington, D.C. to visit foreign embassies and diplomats.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Academics, and more. Interactive Skills & Learning In Diplomacy, Leadership, Cultural Awareness, Conflict Resolution, Community & Global Affairs.
CAMP LOCATION: Camp location TBD but within the Pittsburgh vicinity
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: It is the only summer camp of its kind in Western Pennsylvania, making it a unique and significant offering to help youth develop the life skills crucial to success. Like stepping into a history book while history is being made, campers learn about different cultures, talk with government and business leaders, meet fact-to-face with diplomats, and sit down together to share delicious meals and discuss the rapid progression of current events.
Luminari is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit founded twelve years ago to foster activities that broaden minds, inspire innovation and promote community engagement.
We value knowledge, education and open-mindedness. We advocate that our actions be guided by compassion and kindness toward each other.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership camp.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Scholarships and financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
June 15-18 9:00 am-3:30 pm in Pittsburgh
June 21-23 in Washington, D.C.
$895 includes all meals, snacks, transportation, hotel and expenses in Washington, D.C.
